Building professional competence
with measurable inputs
Orbistra provides management learning for working professionals. We state contact hours, weekly commitment and scope before enrolment so participants can make an informed decision about each programme.

How we came to do this work
Orbistra was set up in Kuala Lumpur in 2017 by practitioners who had spent a combined two decades running programmes inside corporate academies and chamber bodies in the region. The recurring observation was that participants often committed to learning without a clear picture of the time required or the boundaries of what would be taught.
That observation shaped how Orbistra structures every programme. Contact hours and weekly preparation time are stated in writing before any payment is taken. The scope of each programme — and, critically, what sits outside it — is published as part of the programme description rather than left for the participant to discover after they start.
The three programmes currently on offer reflect three distinct depth levels: a three-week short course built around repeated negotiation practice, a twenty-week part-time strategy programme applied to the participant's own organisation, and a twelve-month engagement with institutions that want to build internal management teaching capacity.
All delivery is based in the Klang Valley. The institutional engagement includes in-person visits with scheduled online sessions between them. Programmes do not issue accredited qualifications; Orbistra's focus is applied competence in defined areas, and we say so directly when a prospective participant's need sits elsewhere.

How We Work
Professional standards we apply
Published assessment rubrics
Assessment criteria for every programme are shared with participants before they begin, not after submission. Rubrics describe what is being assessed and how it is weighted.
Scope declared in writing
Each programme names what it does not cover. Topics outside scope are not handled imprecisely — they are referred to appropriately qualified advisers.
Cohort size limits
Short course cohorts are capped at sixteen so every participant is observed across exercises. Size limits are not adjusted upward once confirmed.
Hours stated before enrolment
Contact hours and weekly preparation time are documented for each programme so you can check commitment against your existing schedule before deciding.
Data handling
Participant information is used for programme administration and communication only. It is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Our privacy policy is available in full on this site.
Written feedback on submissions
The strategy programme includes written faculty feedback on each submission, not a numeric grade alone. Participants receive commentary they can act on.
What We Stand For
Clarity over persuasion
Management learning in Malaysia sits in a market where promotional language often outpaces programme substance. At Orbistra, the description of each programme is written to give a reader enough information to disqualify it as well as choose it. Contact hours, entry expectations, scope boundaries and what is out of scope are all available before any enquiry is made.
The three programmes — negotiation practice, strategy and planning, and institutional faculty development — are designed for specific situations. The short course suits professionals who negotiate regularly and want to sharpen preparation and exercise discipline under observation. The strategy programme suits individuals with planning or budget responsibility who want to develop that capability in the context of their own organisation over twenty weeks. The institutional engagement suits corporate academies and training bodies that want to build management teaching capacity internally over twelve months.
Orbistra does not issue accredited qualifications. This is stated directly because it matters to some prospective participants. For those who need an accredited outcome, we will say so in response to an enquiry rather than allow the conversation to continue in a direction that does not serve the participant's actual need.
